25 year old who grew up playing games, and dared to go outside once. I was working on getting into web development for a while, but I gave it up to get back into the swing of hiking/backpacking on a more 'full time' basis. I recently got into climbing up mountains in the last year training for more technical ascents, then switched gears to long distance hiking instead. I'm a month away from starting a 2,660 mile hike. I never thought I'd be working so hard and saving up so much money to essentially become homeless, but life is weird like that.
Excuse the expression, I was getting blasted by super cold wind/powder up there.

Pacific crest trail?
-
You know it!

Older brother did it last year but had to stop near Yellowstone because of lack of funds I heard overall it's breathtaking but more of a treacherous trail
-
I think that's the CDT if he went through Yellowstone, in which case I respect your brother. That trail is notoriously the most brutal in the US of the three major trails, I mean its tagline is "Embrace the Brutality", so yeah. All the hikers I've followed who have finished just looked absolutely done with everything by the time they got to the end. But it looks awesome.

I'm not 100% sure I've only done part of the Appalachian but I'm 16 so I take that as an accomplishment
-
Nice, the AT looks great as well. I hope to do that one next. How was it?
-
I was more in the northern area it's extremely mountainous but I didn't find it too challenging
-
That's the kind of section I'd like, the thing I worry about with the AT is being stuck under the trees all the time, haha.
-
Sick, where's that at

Edited by Prototape: 3/3/2016 6:32:58 AMNorth Bend, Washington (Mailbox Peak). The view on the other side is much better. The hiking in this area is so great, I pretty much live out there when I have chunks of time off from work.
