I'm Jonathan, a college student in Texas turning 20 this year. Since I graduated two years ago from high school, I've been at my university for the first year and a community college at the second. My parents are really supporting me out the wazoo, and I'm grateful, but I'll be starting work next week as a IT assistant.
A lot of times I ask why I'm in college in the first place, and I always put my half-assed understanding forward, but I remind myself that I want to become a teacher that can actually teach others the right way using the right system. I've run into a lot boring and terrible teachers, and since education is all I really know, I'll kill to give it a shot and make it a career. That's my only college-related drive.
I also keep questioning whether or not I should be in a relationship. I stand out a lot for looking fit and having something of a beard, and I get attention for it. But I constantly worry about letting that other person down, or weirding them out with how I live my life (extremely lax). I've been in a relationship before (it was bad), so I'm wondering if I should put myself through that, again. Along with that, I combat my loneliness often (supposedly like everyone else), but I'm also happy being alone. It's really confusing. (Reason for this part is because I acquired an actual interest after all this time.)
