Older brother did it last year but had to stop near Yellowstone because of lack of funds I heard overall it's breathtaking but more of a treacherous trail

I think that's the CDT if he went through Yellowstone, in which case I respect your brother. That trail is notoriously the most brutal in the US of the three major trails, I mean its tagline is "Embrace the Brutality", so yeah. All the hikers I've followed who have finished just looked absolutely done with everything by the time they got to the end. But it looks awesome.

I'm not 100% sure I've only done part of the Appalachian but I'm 16 so I take that as an accomplishment

I was more in the northern area it's extremely mountainous but I didn't find it too challenging

That's the kind of section I'd like, the thing I worry about with the AT is being stuck under the trees all the time, haha.
