Sun.
I dislike when people call it "Sol," similarly when people call Moon, "Luna" or Earth, "Terra." I also dislike when people say the earth. IAU recommendations refer to these celestial bodies as proper nouns, and as Sun, Earth, and Moon respectively. You wouldn't fly a spaceship to the Mars.

Edited by Rubyk: 4/5/2016 2:07:41 AMYou would get pretty pissed off in most Spanish speaking countries. Sun translates to Sol, Moon translates to Luna. And Earth is Tierra.

As those names should, because they're Latin. I'm just repeating the IAU recommendations, at least for English, I couldn't be bothered taking about space in Spanish with my kitchen Spanish knowledge, so that's really not a big deal.
