Exotics aren't meant to be overpowered the idea in itself is game breaking. They should however offer very unique gameplay possibilities. Hence the title exotic, which is not synonymous at all with OP unless you are simple minded.

I think thunderlord is the standard for how exotics should be. Nothing outrageous, besides really solid stats and a perk to make it really fun to use

Not many exotic perks that can't be rolled on legendary counter parts which dulls most exotics, especially if base stats of legendary are superior.
