Silimar's artifact needs something added to it. Only reducing DoT places you at a severe disadvantage in comparison to what the other artifacts offer.

  • Snipers currently are more abundant than thorn. I'll stick with gheleon vs them. Everyone stopped using burn grenades and jumped to skip and pillars, anyways.

  • Yea, no shit. But the Thorn is being brought back to current levels with easy access to it so a lot of people will be "trying" it out. And it you come across a full team trying to troll with the new thorns, that artifact WILL come in handy.

  • Considering the majority of used grenades in PvP have a burn as well as returning thorn, I'd say it has its perfect niche here. It's bungie way of saying "so you hate the thorn that much? Here, put this on and it's perk is now useless when used on you".

  • I think it could be useful. Duck back into cover and unless they enemy knows you are using it, they will leave you to burn out, when in fact you'll get your shield back and have a chance to catch them by surprise I agree it sounds pretty average on paper, but so do a lot of perks which end up being borderline OP. I don't think this will ever be OP, but it could be very useful.

  • They'll know you have it as soon as they hit you once, because numbers through walls. And as I said, the artifact does not reduce the duration of the burn, only the amount, so hp regen will start same as it currently does, and they'll also know when that is.

  • Hmmm. I had first read the perk as eliminating the dot. But it just says "dramatically reduce". That could mean reduce damage per tick and number of ticks, but I agree doesn't seem to eliminate it entirely. Would have been better if it inflicted the DoT on the person shooting you.

  • Then don't use it. I don't have a problem with DoT so I won't touch it. Some people would rather stab their own eyes with a fork than get killed by DoT. This artifact is for those people.

  • But the thing is, even if you do dislike DoT, there are better options already. Like Gheleon's artifact. No need to worry about DoT if you're given improved information of where your enemies are. Gives you a big upper hand, while if you're hit by nearly any DoT ability, you're still going to be 1-2shot 'til death even without high number ticks.

  • I agree there are better options. It's just that the 2 most complained about things have DoT. Thorn and firebolts. Even though they're both nerfed and not used anymore....

  • Thorn is gaining use recently. Firebolt use has gone down and I'm happy. All I'm saying is that Silimar's artifact should have a bit something extra to make it a better choice than it is, because it doesn't eliminate or reduce the duration of the burn. Just reduces the damage any burn deals.
