No it wasn't. It was like every other expansion, except they added 1 new subclass per character. You kept every single thing you had. Every expansion you get new weapons, new armor, and higher light levels to achieve. That's NOT starting over. Starting over is having nothing. No light, level 1, starting gear, etc.
