All I ever hear on these forums is that nothing is balanced, and Destiny has ruined everything in trying to balance, wiping the slate clean gives the a fresh start, and is a lot easier than trying to deal with bringing all the items forward, unless they make all the items useless. They'll also have new story lines, with new level requirements, and having characters come in with already achieved levels, will make it more difficult to create the game they want to create. I for one would rather not see them handcuffed by trying to bring in old content for a new game, one in which they may not even go with the 3 classes they have now, who knows? Edit: I've seen comments on shaders, emblems, and ships - cosmetics.. I could get behind this, but it does not make or break the game if they do not.
