Nah. People like you just don't understand how simple business practices work.
It's digital supply and demand. The more we demand or pre order, the less incentive a company has to supply their products.
The latest example was rise of iron. Pre orders were slacking so they added to their product. Sure it was just a sparrow but the point was made by our wallets.
These gaming companies set targets for pre orders. If the target is not met, they react in favor of the consumer, as per the earlier example. They can also lower the price, not before launch but shortly after, titanfall, Battlefield, etc...
Now ask yourself this question. What do YOU gain for pre ordering this game? Early access... to a BETA? Really??? A Beta. Everyone say it with me. B E T A. Something that is FREE to everyone. That just blows my mind.
Now let's just hypothetically say that no one pre ordered this game... Do you think they would have some incentive to drive up demand? I think so. Maybe free dlc (cut content) for year 1. Maybe 1000 free silver. Who knows what they would do but it would only benefit us, the consumer.

If the preorder incentives are not adequate in your opinion, then that's entirely on you and not industry standards.
-
I love how people think that pre-orders are permanent and non-refundable.

What do I as a customer lose by pre ordering?

If you are going to buy it anyways at release day then nothing.

What does the bungie lose if I cancel a pre order?
