I like how you call it drivel but you still feel the need to reply to it and therefore give it credibility now that you've dignified me with your response maybe you can take another look at this.
It is necessary in today's market for developers to offer their games as pre-order DLC to prove to their investors that they have enough interest to launch the game at release date.
If you cannot show the investors that there is a profit to be had they will not invest they will not pay for manufacturing they will not pay for advertising and they will not pay for marketing you will not be able to release your game.
