yea this kinda makes the sentinels one ability useless well not for pve but pvp yea.

It still suits PvP... Destiny 1 is plagued with nothing but ability spam, but Destiny 2 doesn't really allow for that to happen anymore. So you either party up and team shot, or get some gun skill.

But won't this negativity affect the pve aspect of the game?

You're not wrong, it does negatively effect the PvE side of the game. Like I said, it suits PvP, but not PvE. I'm hoping they shorten the time for PvE, but keep it as it is for PvP.
