Pvp should have always been mostly about gunskill. A thumbless player in D1 could always rely on nades and supers for half their kills. I prefer it this way honestly.

Then you should go play games that offer PVP without abilities. You are playing Destiny gods sake , it is filled with powerful ability and op guns . That made Destiny a huge game , not the PVP. Did you know Players spend way more time in D1 within PVE activities , not PVP If your desire is gun skill , there are zillions of PVP games that priories gun skill over abilities.
-
And one of those games is D2. Imma play the crap outta this. You dont like it? Fine. Dont play it. Im not gonna go play something else when i enjoy this just because you dont enjoy this.
-
Edited by Lizard King: 7/20/2017 4:06:33 PMNo it is not. Destiny 2 is all about team work not gun skill. It wont matter how much skill you have when you have 2 opposing guardians with D2. Gun skill was effective in D1. And no unfortunately the game you are looking for is not Destiny 2. The community clearly spoke out loud. If bungie will not make major changes to Beta and go back closer to Destiny 1 then Destiny 2 is designed to fail.
-
Im callin BS on the way more time in PVE comment. PvP is what kept D1 going not PVE. Im sorry that me liking the changes has offended you so. I'll just enjoy the balls out of the beta while you go get your money back.
-
All released stats etc.. highlight that PVE content was played way way way more then PVP. but you can continue to kid yourself. You clearly have your opinions which is against majority of the released stats and Guardians.. Good luck
-
Exactly!

Why not remove abilities and supers altogether?
-
I would be cool with a game mode that does that honestly. But in standard game modes i think you ought to have to make plays to get a super and if youcant then maybe you dont get 1 in that match.
-
Well, but that isn't Destiny at all. If you don't want Destiny to be Destiny, than maybe it was the wrong game for you? It's a shame that this games changed to shit because of people like you. Vanilla Destiny 1 PvP was COMPLETELY different from what D2 is now...it was awesome. Just a shame...
-
I ruined the game? I never said nerf super cooldowns in the first place. So cool your jets. If youre that upset you cant use supers 3 times a match and use them and grenades as a crutch to get half your kills then maybe a shooter isnt the right genre for you and you need to grow some thumbs. If you wanna manage cooldowns instead of shooting people go play a real MMO. This isnt WoW or ESO. A game with gunplay this polished should be primarily about the gunplay. And the devs know that. Thats why the changes are here. Not because of me or anyone else like me.

Edited by TeddyBundy: 7/20/2017 6:39:16 AMDestiny was about fun and being epic, not gunskill or mlg bullshit. It wasn't a standard shooter and that was a good thing. It was different. That's why it became so popular. Now? A watered down Halo wannabe, still with crappy technical standards. What's the point of being a Superhero when you cannot even use your superhero abilities. Now teamshooting is the meta and I feel as weak in PvE as never before...as awful as it can be. The game was great despite its flaws but it got destroyed because of people like you that wanted a different game.
-
Jesus. I never said anything was wrong with D1. Im just agreeing with the changes that the devs thought necessary. If you wanna play D1, go play D1. Me personally i dont like buying a game twice. Changes in a new title are good. I dont want a better looking version of the same game. You can say Destiny has never been about gunplay if you want. You have every right to be completely wrong. If supers were the major draw to Destiny for you then you missed a lot of the game. If thats your thing, fine. You do you bro beans. But to stand back and say this is a game all about abilities and cooldowns like its Paragon or Smite is just dumb.
-
You just read what you want, right? I never said that it's all about Supers or Abilities. In fact I have 50% primary kills because I love primary gunfights and in fact back in Vanilla there were actually awesome primaries so there wasn't any need to rely on cheap stickies or Icebreakers or supers to get kills. But those superhero abilities made this game special. Just compare Vanilla D1 PvP to the one of D2. Two completely different games. Is it really a good thing to change everything that made the first game awesome? It all went down when Bungle decided to force the game o be mlg material...which it will never be. It all went down with Trials and every roundhousekick patch made it worse. When I played it the first week I neber would've thought that it'll be changed to what it is now. No, I don't want the same game. I just want that Destiny feeling back. But what we'll get is another stipped down version of that we have now. Next time they could simply remove supers, powerweapons and abilities altogether...it wouldn't change that much anymore.
-
Vanilla D1 pvp led to what D1 pvp is now. Terrible. Just ability spam. Weapons were incredibly overpowered leading to nerf after nerf and that's why sidearms stickies and icebreaker are the meta.
-
In Year 1 there was way less ability spam because you had good weapons in your hand. Bungie did the worst thing on choosing nerfing everything down to hell which caused the Special and Ability spam because primaries can no longer compete with either.
-
Edited by TeddyBundy: 7/20/2017 12:56:06 PMThat's because Bungle is unable to balance shit in a bowel, not because PvP wasn't fun. Also, the guns weren't even op. Suros for example was just good. Every weapon should've been that way. But they destroyed the whole weapon class because of that one gun. Same with the Vex. That thing was op...but instead of toning it down a bit, they destroyed all Fusion Riifles. Wrong nerf after weong nerf led to the desaster we're playing right now...and D2 is even worse.

While i can see that some of the "fun" element has been lost, we should remember its a shooter game. I can't tell you how many times we lost a game this weekend in trials to people abusing double lightning grenades
-
Double lightning grenades are still a thing in D2
-
Double lightning grenades are still a thing in D2
Who even are you And yes, but they dont recharge after 25seconds and they don't have anywhere near the reach or cone they used to, plus they dont proc as soon as they land

Edited by Lizard King: 7/20/2017 7:25:08 AMReality no one gives a crap about Trials other then hard core PVP fanatics and streamers who turned Trials a cash grab. Destiny always had a higher population on PVE and players dedicated more time on PVE activities . Just because PVP players were bitchy and Bungie chooe to cater their desire doesn't mean they are in control. With the current direction Destiny will flop in couple months if they won't change a lot of things they nerfed within D2. Because PVE community will not continue to play and PVP community is not enough to carry this game. This is simple reality my friend.

Welcome to a world without light. The entire basis of destiny 2 is to fight against an enemy without your abilities cuz they been taken off you/weakened. To ever think that spamming nades every 4 seconds and popping supers every minute in destiny 2 was gonna be a thing, is straight up moronic. Tbh, i think for every ability spammer who walks away, a genuine fps player who was put off by destinys over the top focus on abilities will come back. Which ultimately is better for the community cuz there'll be less kids who get upset when they're shot in a shooter game. As for catering to pvp players desire, yes they did. Because pve doesnt need touching. Speed running through kingsfall raids at 335 light with WoL bubble and ToM/BS was all that happened so what did it matter to you guys if doctrine got nerfed. When the PvP players got up in arms about clever dragon with high cal being virtually unstoppable, what point was there in asking the pve community seeing as the only weapon you'd use is outbreak prime or chaos dogma?

If that is the route Destiny 2 will take , this game will die in less then 3 months.
-
Be honest here. How important do you think you are? Its a pet peeve of mine. 12 people say theres something about a game they dont like and because those snowflakes are so important and special, its gonna bring down an entire gaming franchise. Youre not that big of a deal. And for every 1 person who quits playing for lack of supers another 1 person will be drawn to it for its gunplay. Get over yourself dude.
-
If that is the route Destiny 2 will take , this game will die in less then 3 months.
Theres no if. It is. Its decided. The story is set. There is no light... If thats your opinion then Destiny aint the game for you. Theres the door...

Edited by Lizard King: 7/20/2017 7:49:19 AMYou get everything wrong about Destiny 2 . Ghaul takes your light . however next story you'll go take your light back. And if you are looking for proof ? The grenades - supers you are using in PVP are all results of that light you get back :) The story of D2 is not about loosing our lights , it is about Aliens invading our home and destroying our homes. Light is a smal thing within the big picture. But it is perfectly normal for a PVP centric dude to understand things wrong as your only worry is your K/D LOL
