You know what doesn't take a millennium? Using your damn primary! 👍🏼

question: why even bother with kinetic primaries when we have a whole other slot full of elemental primaries? why not just run elementals the whole time? kinetics seems like a wasted slot now that we will end up never using once our elemental slot is stocked with nice guns. might as well just reduce it to two slots, elemental and power. less buttons to press.

Edited by Eclipse: 7/20/2017 11:30:07 PMBecause the weapons are different in each slot. I prefer the kinetic pulse, Nightshade. Lots of people like the Void Nergal. They're similar, but different when it comes to stability, range, and perks. That's for PvP. For PvE, it matters because for enemies without shields...use kinetic! Don't waste your "special" elemental primary ammo on enemies with no shields. Those elemental primary weapons work wonders on shielded enemies! It makes for more variation in your choices, instead of just having 1 primary that does all.
-
Have you played the beta? I didnt pre-order so i havent. Wondering how elemental ammo drops are. If they reduced elemental drops and reduced damage to shields with kinetic. Maybe they are more for shielded enemies?
-
That's exactly what they did. Amazing how you realize this without playing the Beta, yet others are still trying to use their elemental weapons for every enemy.
-
Just a logical conclusion. Its how i would have done that weapon system. The power weapons i would have split between maybe light and heavy power though. I feel in pve the power weapons might be lacking. However I understand why they did it for pvp.

Thank god that's a thing now

I'm glad to see more primary play but I also think that supers should come into play around 60% into the game rather than 80% as at present. Most countdown games I don't get to use it at all.

Edited by Eclipse: 7/20/2017 11:35:23 PMI've gotten it when my team was in the lead and only had 35-40 points in Control. I was wrecking the enemy team though, and had my super way before anyone else. I wasn't able to get it a second time in the game. But I like that. If the timer was shorter for Supers, then you'd have people camping for supers like Destiny 1. You can be 70% and just say, "Don't plant the bomb yet. I'll have my super in 1 minute" and then all of a sudden we have a super slow gameplay that's boring. Instead, let's keep it to where supers are limited at possibly only once a game...and let guns decide the winners.
-
So when playing particularly well in a particularly close game you got a super 70% into it? The more common scenario for me is that my team wins before I get to deploy it! It's a beta test and I can't even test the super! I mostly agree with you that it was overdone in D1, abilities being used too often, but they've kind of gone to the other extreme here.
-
Yes, that's been the only game where I got my super way before anyone else. Lots of times the mercy rule will come into play before supers are even a thing. On close games that are down to the wire, mostly everyone will have supers.

Nah, it just takes a century
