I have no issue with #1 - that's an opinion.
#2 - it affects more players that you realize. Setting up a DoS attack isn't really that hard, and modded controllers are a click away on the internet. In the 2,000+ hours I've put into D1 and D2, I've never even heard of someone being banned. And I accidentally got involved for a very short time with a group that was cheating. Soon as I realized it, I was out.
#3 - sure, it can be a wider problem. But trying to conflate a Script Kiddie who's boosting their s**t self-esteem by executing some Python code is very different than denying large-scale, multiple-user services. And the OP's point - that you so eloquently declined to entertain - is that Bungie is not doing anything about it. Why put the reporting feature into the game? They don't intend - and have never intended - to action any reports.
Your role as a moderator enables you immediately ban this user from messaging (bypassing the report queue) if you select a punishment.
