Trials is broken so bad that you took it offline. All that asshattery waterfalls down into Competitive and QuickPlay with your new ranking system. What did you think was going to happen, all those paid carries were going to evapourate once Trails was gone?
PvP is so broken that you have to take part of it offline but the underlying problem still exists. That's like turning a server off once it's been compromised and then turning it back on and hoping the compromise is magically gone or that the people who were ferreting around in it will lose interest and go on to the next.
That's an incredibly naive method of managing your game. If you really took this problem seriously, it'd be fixed by now. You've had well enough time to do so. Bungie simply lack the gumption to do it. The architecture is bad and you won't make the necessary adjustments. You probably believe it costs more to do so than the cost of the number of players you'll lose if you leave it as is.
What do you think that will cost you in terms of future savvy gamers, gamers who will remember this debacle?
