Facts: making the game better for solo play doesn't mean getting rid of team activities or even dumbing them down.
What it does mean is
-better Matchmaking in PvP environments that are currently extremely unbalanced towards fireteams.
-more and/or better matchmaking options for PvE content like Nightfalls, raids and dungeons.
-more endgame content like Shattered Throne that can be done solo or in a fireteam and both are a true endgame challenge.
If you want to keep having a game to play into the future, you might not want to tell people who experience the game differently than you to "find another game". You also might want to try a little empathy and understanding instead of faux internet basement-rage.

Division 2 is a great example for this. You can do everything solo, but team play is encouraged by giving more and better rewards for a full team.
Want to run lone wolf? That's awesome!!
Want to run a squad? That's awesome!!
You're not punished for running solo, and guess what? It's a multiplayer game.

Division 2 is a game with co-op functionality, not a multiplayer game. Seriously, I want to see one of these people that cry so much about there not being enough solo content to play an actual MMORPG with actual elitism and gatekeeping. Oh and in those games ALL end game content is done in a group. Lol.

Destiny 2 is an mmorpg? I would agree with morpg but not mmo.... Searching for guardians Evaluating guardians . . . Starting 4v1 comp
j/k I know what I mean
Black Desert Online is an MMORPG. I played the entirety of leveling three characters to 50-55 all by myself. Not once did I need help nor did I ever have to ask for it. Destiny 2 is NOT an MMORPG, yet solo players run into more brick walls than they would in most games. Let's not even get started on the fact that most other online games have, at the very least, in game chat and messaging. Destiny requires you to go outside the game to find a group.

Solo playing in Division 2 is fine because the gunplay is designed for you to play like a wimp. By wimp, i mean sitting in the way back, behind cover and chipping at enemies. No timers needed. Many might see that as "strategic", but any game developer undertands that playstyle just promotes a slow campy playstyle. Its passive. Added to this, enemies scale in Division 2 based on the #of players, so of course playing alone is a far easier time.

All that sounds AWESOME and I would really like Destiny to go down that path. Great ideas!

I never once mentioned anything about Div2 being any more or less difficult than D2. Everything that you just said in your comment is asinine, and makes me wonder if you actually played Div2.

Pretty sure the raid that came out does not have a solo option, so your statement kind of falters there. Especially given the fact that, that raid would be looked at as the true end game content.
Pretty sure the raid that came out does not have a solo option, so your statement kind of falters there. Thing is though, is the developers listen to the community, and I wouldn't be too surprised if MM isn't around the corner. However, my point is, is that Division 2 doesn't punish solo play, and goes a step further to encourage team play with better rewards. If D2 followed a similar formula, I would speculate that player numbers would increase exponentially.

I mean which parts are you punished in. Other than raids which require a team (which makes sense), and crucible (which ya the match making is garbage), where are you punished for playing solo. Both games do the same thing for stuff like story missions, where you get more for playing with others. Nightfalls can be done solo (although I kind of wish they would make it so you could do normal strikes solo if you wanted, don't really see why not). Where in destiny are you punished for playing solo?

Yea the raid, they took a step back, and the community isnt happy one bit. Heck even the population has plummeted ever since raid came out without MM. But guess what theres already talk about it adding MM. They just took off the MM for the raid for the sake of "worlds first" and cater to streamers. But mark my words they will add MM eventually, they not gonna leave as is specially with the population being as low as ever, I know I play TD2 few hrs a day. The MM these days compared to before the patch and raid release has gone downhill faster than any1 thought it would. If they keep that up, they'll lose everyone but the streamers and those elite cry babies that want everything for themselves.

Most of the complaints I heard actually had almost nothing to do with a lack of match making, and everything to do with the raid being basically unbeatable for those on console. But then again I don't look at their forums a ton.

I don’t know how Division(s) have managed the fireteam building aspect, but Destiny certainly could improve team based activities. - LFG in-game - solo option for strikes - launch from orbit for Blind Well & EP (needs new rewards, but same is for other Y1 armors, and many weapons) - LFG should allow communication between players (chat & text). And it should allow more information being given by the team creator (strategy, NF settings, power requirement) - option to require voice comms, and other additional options for those with disabilities (text chat on consoles, and multi-level emote wheel with better responses/moves for team activities (raids etc.): yes, no, left, right, middle, top, bottom, arc, void, solar, different responses for each raid symbols etc.) - maybe fireteams could also have a place for a watcher; someone who could only see what those in the activity are seeing (like the cam you sometimes have when you are down). This could be utilized to teach others or record videos etc.

I agree with you completely, those are all excellent suggestions. I never have a problem with improving systems, my only issue comes in when people demand end game solo content. Like it or not there are only some many resources, so work on one thing, cuts into or cuts out work on another. This is a multiplayer game so really the end game content should be multiplayer based, but that isn't a reason to have poor in-game systems (like a lack of in game LFG). I was mainly pointing out that your statement was slightly incorrect, as I have seen the division 2 used as an example a few times, and yet it's true end game content isn't actually soloable either. But it certainly does tend to have better systems altogether. I would absolutely love the ability to ghost watch other people's games, and while it could be argued that you could just stream, it isn't quite the same as being able to flip through everyone view, or even be able to be disconnected from people's point of view in general. Not to mention group streaming takes a lot more to set up every time you want to do it. It would really help people learn the raids, and you could literally treat it as a kind of class to teach many people all at once, it would be incredibly helpful.
