If you want to keep having a game to play into the future, you might not want to tell people who experience the game differently than you to "find another game".
Get over yourselves. If you just want everything to have matchmaking or just be done solo without any matchmaking of any kind I'm sorry but this game simply isn't for you. You can call it toxic, gatekeeping, or even elitism all you want but destiny simply doesn't (and never will) work like that.

  • It's funny that you say something like that, but there is literally nothing wrong with matchmaking in games , it's usually because of lazy game design it doesn't work to be honest. A raid for example can be challenging and still have the necessary tools for people in a matchmade group to succeed. You're basically saying to someone who might not have friends on the platform they are playing on might have social anxiety or whatever the case may be that the game might not be for them for what reason...because they want an option for the way they want to play the game. I'm sorry , but that's idiotic. If you look at a game like wow they have a premade group finder and it works great for people who don't want to deal with straight up matchmaking, and don't want to go to 3rd party websites to find a group. Bungie offers very ltitle to people in this regard, like i said lazy game design is usually the culprit for these things. But yeah the game might not be for these people right...common sense. I did every raid in destiny 1, and yet i have only done 2 of them in destiny 2 , not because of their challenge, but because of the hassle require just to get into the damn thing anymore. Most of the people i played with quit the game very early in and had and still have no intention on giving bungie another chance after we all sat around in destiny 1 waiting a year for that game to be a product worth playing. I hate when people just say the game might not be for you, when any smart company or game for that matter tries to please as many people as possible while not taking away from the overall vision of the game, they might not need to put full blown matchmaking in, but they damn sure don't have any good systems to get people without a full 6 man squad into the raid either.

  • I said nothing of challenge, nothing about destiny 2 raids are challenging, matchmaking still wouldn't work though. The only thing i can agree on is that there should be an in game way of finding people to play with.
A raid for example can be challenging and still have the necessary tools for people in a matchmade group to succeed.
Ok so lets say we have matchmaking for last wish after hours searching you've finally found a group two people don't speak the same language as everyone else one guy has never done it and doesn't tell anyone until a good hour or two in and of the remaining three one guy doesn't have a mic while another is to low of light to actually be of any help and finally the last guy is toxic af and leaves well now what do you just pull some poor soul into this mess? Is there a penalty for leaving? and if there is does that mean its now lifted since one person already left? what do you do when the match made groups flood the forums saying the easy raid is to hard and needs to be changed? Since there's "literally nothing wrong with matchmaking" and all boils down to "lazy game design" please tell me how you would fix this hot mess.

  • Call them casuals call them solo idc... It all started back in D1 when they started this minority to reach max light outside of the raid.. Disgusting. They keep crying about matchmaking while they could use lfg. And all the nerfs about weapons and armor... The attitude of "i got killed by luna, played two games of comp reached 200 but it is so f difficult for me so i will demand nerf" needs to stop. Casuals need to go ASAP.

This game has suffered greatly b3cause it has failed so miserable in balance ... all mainly due to PvP and the terrible sandbox direction. Get a grip already.

  • This game started to fail when casuals invaded in. Yeah they paid for a game. But because they payed doesn't mean they have to get everything. To simply put it, if they aren't worthy they can't have it. Casuals think this game is PvP. Hell not.. Most people doesn't even care about lore. They demand nerf this, nerf that because "i" can't have it, even with all these catch up mechanics like max light weapons from events are stil crying. Instead of playing the game like every normal elitist person do. It is an rpg andif they can't log in 10+ hours a day they should move on. Not every game is for everyone. Lot of scrubs also managed to get 1k because of the last wish checkpoint choose combined with Riven cheese. Disgusting.

You're right this game is a looter-shooter and RNG based and as such people shouldn't get everything they want. I also agree that yes, some people do take the "NERF IT INTO THE GROUND!" mentality a little too far a lot of the time, but what you're saying isn't exactly reasonable either. I personally can't play for more than maybe 5-6 hours a day because I work and still go to school, so by your standards am I not "worthy"? Not only this, but everyone deserves a chance to experience a product and to at least attempt to gain the loot they see destroy them in the crucible or that they see annihilate a boss. To simply say they should just leave the game and let it be run by elitists who sit on their butt all day and barely do much more than eat, sleep, piss, and play is not only just poor thinking, but also doesn't contribute to the game and its community in any way. Destiny and Destiny 2 have some of the most wonderful people I've ever met playing, and to simply dismiss most of these people as "scrubs" or "casuals" as you so put it is just plain toxic. Not only this, but even Bungie clearly doesn't agree with you. As a Game Designer would you rather have tens of millions of people play your product every day for just a few hours, or just a few thousand, maybe tens of thousands of people play every day for ten hours plus? Bungie is developing a game where everyone can enjoy the experience and where players strive to be that person who killed them in the crucible, or the one who did the most damage to a boss in the newest raid. They won't earn everything no, and many of them will cry for nerfs that luckily will never come to fruition, but to make the statement you have is a severe disservice to this game and the community surrounding it. Now, I know if you end up replying to me it likely will be very similar to the comment which I now reply to, though I hope it will be slightly more dignified, hopefully less of a toxic cesspool of negativity and more of a constructive post discussing my reply to you and any others. I hope this can be the case. In any event though I hope you still do have a good day despite the possible negativity coming my way, and just wished to simply let you know from a loyal day one Destiny 1 player what my opinion upon your thinking is.

  • Oh and just a PS to add on, the Destiny universe has some of the most interesting lore I've seen over the years, you should really give it a read. Have a good one.
