For a multipayer online title, this is one of the most solo friendly games in the genre. You can hit max power, and get all the best weapons via quests solo. The only thing you need a team for is raids. Which makes sense as its a team focused activity built on group synergy and communication. I dont know what more you 'lone wolves' want. We already had the removal of heroic strikes, timed nightfalls with time gain modifiers, prestige/heroic raids. All this to appease the antisocials who refuse to team up. It comes down to resources, and i'd rather all resources go into focusing on team activities as opposed to solo play. Just make some friends or use lfg like the rest of us. I often hear, "But i have to go OUTSIDE the game" ...oh no, in 2019 we have to use tech to get social...terrifying! Come on guys. How often do you use twitter, insta, snapchat, facebook etc? We socialise and interact constantly in online social settings. Using the lfg on this app is no different.
Facts: Resources are finite, they should be allocated to developing multi player not solo play.
Facts: Destiny 2 is a multiplayer focused online game
Facts: Joining a team/making friends/joining a clan exponentialy increases chances of success

Edited by lCertifiedl: 5/30/2019 1:41:22 PMYeah I agree with this. Half the player base probably spend all day on their phones but apparently using an app that's dead simple is hard work. The very same people asking for matchmaking would then be the same people that come back to whine when people keep leaving, no mics, wrong loadouts, bad attitude etc While I have no problem with helping people and have done over the years, in against MM for raids just due to the bad experience, the commitment required and bungie agree with us by the looks of it. I play on my own a fair bit and never had a problem getting people. The OP is just blasting everyone who doesn't agree with him, ignoring the fact it was his opinion and other are fine to disagree, just like he can with the rest of us. There is a tonne of stuff you can play as a solo player but still, keep beating the dead horse, I'd say destiny does it about right. All the best activities require a team and I've had a proper laugh sometimes doing it. Get some bad eggs but then that's everywhere, I'm not buying this hard to find a team on lfg, it's nonsense.

Exactly bud. You can tell that most of these guys who post about the issue have never even tried lfg or making friends. I see people complain about people asking for clears or to kwtd, and its real simple to me, if they dont meet some other guys requirements, just look for a group that has none, or make own post. But nobody wants to make their own posts, so its like, you dont want to try, but you expect us to do it all for you? Just make the small amount of effort. I mean, it takes longer to type a paragraph here than a 1 sentence lfg post lol
-
Spot on mate, they can spend 10 minutes writing a post to tear your opinion down but cant be bothered to write an lfg post, it's comical. Agree with your post down below about the experience as well, MM for raids is just a bad idea, bungie agrees, hell even the division 2 developer agrees.

Raid matchmaking would hurt absolutely nobody, Yes there is Lfg and second party apps to make teams but they are not new player friendly and usually ask for x amount of clears or must have certain weapons. Having matchmaking available for raids would at the very least let people try the different encounters hence giving them more experience to try and join an lfg team. And as already stated how in anyway would it affect people that have already completed raids or have a solid team matchmaking would be optional if you don't like it don't use it.

MM fo raids would hurt the games overall, would be worse then “remove cores” crap.

Edited by EARWAK3R: 5/30/2019 1:39:40 PMDont you think if it were that simple, games that have raids would give you 'optional' matchmaking? If its harmless why dont they just turn mm on? Theres a reason why they dont my friend. The honest reason we dont have it is, its pointless dedicating resources to because its guaranteed to fail. Look at reckoning, a 3 man activity where the only difficult part is crossing a bridge, yet matchmaking for it 9/10 teams cant even avoid a boss stomp. It inevitably turns more people away from attempting subsequent runs, than it encourages. Scenario 1. Imagine matchmaking into a raid, 3 guys have no mic, 1 guy is playing loud music, 1 guy doesnt speak your language. Who is the leader? Who do you talk to to work out strats? So you leave and re enter matchmaking, and this kind of no mic, no coordination scenario happens again, and again and again.(you know its true) You eventualy just close it and think screw it im done. Scenario 2. You go to lfg, and you spend 10 - 15 mins to find 5 others who want to get this done. They might not even be the best players, but they've made the effort to look up other like minded players just like you, and they're willing to use a mic. You might not even complete a full raid, but you talk, you attempt, you learn. You call it a night and maybe add a guy or 2 from your run. Honest question, which scenario is most likely to make you attempt a raid again? So yes, it is 'optional', but that 'option' is a negative one, that will have the highest failure rate, and is far more likely to put you off ever attempting a raid again, than it is encouraging you to group up and try again. The matchmaking then starts a ripple effect, the guys who fail in matchmaking will then come to the forums and say "x, y, and z needs changing in the raid, because matchmade groups cant pass a checkpoint. This leads to simplified mechanics being applied in subsequent raids, or less adds etc. It weakens the experience. And thats why essentialy, most games with raids avoid mm. Unless its like wow which gave very simplified dumbed down raid finder, with raids stripped of all mechanics you can face roll. It never goes down well, trust me. So whilst 'optional' raid matchmaking seems a novel and obvious idea, it actualy isnt, and historicaly leads to failure when implemented. My solution, is tower chat options A job/quest board in the tower akin to monster hunter An lfg room in the tower, and on patrol akin to division safehouses.

Took the words out my mouth. Basically said the exact same thing to my mate last night.
-
Have you played Warframe? Stop.
-
Yes, played it extensively and i love it. I think its legit one of the best looters out there. So if your point is that warframe is the best solo friendly experience, thats a fair argument tbh. I played a ton, but my crew dropped off or id still be on loving it. I have most the frames + primes and tons of cool mods and skins and shit, just havnt been on much
-
No I'm saying WF is terrible. But that's just me.
-
Sorry you didnt enjoy it. I had a blast with it last year. Tons to do. Matchmaking for everything, and the new open world planets they added are dope. But to each their own.
-
Goddamn, it must make you feel really cool to be so vile and ignorant. Enjoy the mute.
-
So when your argument have no leg to stand on you mute them (or put a link on any solo activity) huh? Sound to me that this guy you muted had some very good points. You just have that "You're wrong, I'm right" syndrome... you could have at least have a counter argument though... :p
-
Dont you love how sols portrays us as 'despised' yet we're here having the friendly rational discussion, and hes here basically saying im right f you! And telling us were vile and toxic 😅
-
I know huh? And yet he ignores the current events that are happening in destiny that would otherwise show that his ideal of MM would prove disastrous. Also, it seems like he is ignoring point such as the ones you posted and is acting like a toddler. It seems like he replied to my post about his actions on you, but I ain't going to reply back to him as there is no point to do so. I might reply if and only if he get out his bubble... :p

Oh yeah, they made great comments like "heroic strikes were removed because anti-socials'' and "go make friends", and then there's the old "if optional mm worked for raids, don't you think other games that have them would offer it?" They do. WoW- optional mm for raids FFXIV- optional mm for raids And guess what Guided Games is? That's right, optional mm for raids. I've played and used 2 of the 3. They work just fine and if you don't want to use it you don't have to. Also, none of you have any grasp of what the concept of playing solo is. You all have turned this into some bullshit that people want to never be teamed with other players and want single player activities created for the game. When you're playing alone and doing strikes being matched with random players, that's the solo players refer to is not being in a premade fireteam. You all talk all this shit about solo players and say "get friends", "you're lazy" and all your other bullshit, but can't understand why you're all despised. Now you know.

Edited by EARWAK3R: 5/30/2019 6:04:04 PMThis is amazing. Us, the guys who knew that we were buying a multiplayer game, we team up, make friends to play with multiple people, HELP each other...generally just have fun, yet we're the despised ones? 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 Whos the serial complainer here man? Us, the team players who are happy, and arent the ones spam posting, crying for the game to be something it was never designed to be. Or you, whos actually the real one being vile and ignorant? I think we know the answer.
-
Too far bro. I’m not sure his comment warranted such a reaction.
-
Thanks man. Honestly i dont see the big deal. Outside of raiding theres a ton of shit here for solo play. Ive spent hours on my own having fun just in the dreaming city. When something comes up that needs a team, i clan up or lfg. Not a problem at all.
-
Edited by EARWAK3R: 5/29/2019 10:37:10 PMIm neither vile, nor ignorant. Unlike you, who is always unable to see any other point of view. You're a serial complainer. Look me up, i play with anybody, any power, any skill level. I sherpa raids, as i did in d1. I done care who i play with, so long as theyre a team player and want to have input/socialise in team activities...in a multiplayer game. I like to help those who want to help themselves. People who dont want to work as a team, i have no time for. Thats not an unreasonable outlook.
