Iron Banner--Pinnacle Subclass Requirement
Bungie,
Why do you tell us you want us to play how we want but then turn around and force us to equip certain subclasses towards getting the Iron Banner Pinnacles?
I started Iron Banner playing with Solar, then switched to Void--sometimes I like switching it up. It was around the 9th match that I decided to put on Arc only to realize I was receiving no progress towards my pinnacle after I had completed my 12th match.
And then I saw that you only get progress for completing a match with either Strand, Void, or Solar equipped... You decided it would be a good idea to include 3/5 subclasses. Why?
No idea. It honestly doesn't make sense.

Should just be complete X amount of games without telling you what subclass to use

I don't mind it. It forced me to use solar, which I've never given a chance. Now, I have a brand new build I enjoy using

Especially since they have no FreeLance Play list this season for Irritable Bowel. I'm not going to join 5 randoms to be Pub Stomped by some 6 stack of Streamers. And that's the only reason they got rid of FreeLance. The streamers were complaining because the only people in the normal list were other 6 stacks of streamers, and they didn't want to have sweaty games, just easy steamrolling pub stomp of 6 random players.

You have 5 subclasses so learn to use them and create builds. There are some OP builds on all 3 characters.

All the subclasses featured for IB are the ones featured in the artifact. Next season, it might be Stasis, Arc, Solar, and Strand. It's better than before since it forced everyone to use 1-2 classes, now chances are you're going to like at least one of the 4 featured classes.

Iron banner is trash. Pointless game mode without level advantages enabled. Wtf is the point of it??? It’s basically quickplay under a different name. Lock zones for 15 seconds like hot garbage imo

2 RepliesBungie hasn’t let us play how we want in years. I don’t know if it started with Champions or just got worse with their introduction. Getting completions with matching subclass has probably been around longer. Maybe not in IB, but in Strikes for the weekly pinnacle it has been there. I guess it’s small consolation that we have 3 available subclasses this IB compare to only 2 last seasons. I don’t mind when Bungie is like “hey if you use this you’ll get a buff.” I just don’t really like it when it’s “hey if you don’t use this you can’t progress or you’ll be underpowered.” in regards to subclass and weapon selection. Maybe save all the restriction stuff for the pinnacle of pinnacle activities where players want to be choked, spit on, called names, and punched in the balls.

Because Destiny is only place where they mean anything. They think they big bosses can say people what to do. In the end of the day, they just hated by people who was robber by them. They not that smart to realise it.

1 ReplyYea it’s super annoying. I don’t see why it has to be anything other than just playing. Wins already aren’t required. This is literally just a restriction and nothing else. There is no benefit to it.

because bungie doesn't care about the game being fun, all they care about its getting numbers of players playing at any giving time. if they cared about fun we would have 20 new pvp maps and all the old games modes back. and iron banner and trials would have their own set of maps

Just swap classes before the end of the match. I do that for everything that requires a certain sub class be used-for both pve and pvp.

From the recent Crucible Update; "We are also looking at ways to decouple the Challenges for "Earn a Daily Reputation Bonus" from "Complete matches as specific subclasses to earn a Pinnacle" in Iron Banner, but don’t have a solution we are happy with yet."

Lol, just equip the class (Bungie tries to require you to play) at the end of the match you're welcome. You'll still get the count towards the Pinnacle without having to be on a class you do not want to play!!!!!

2 RepliesIf I had to guess they're probably forcing it to try and get more data on said subclasses for balance purposes. With the artifact, new fragments, buffs and nerfs all in play. Even though data can only tell yah so much with all the variables present. Or... They just did it because?

Do you want the pinnacle? Yes? Then complete the requirement for completion. No one is stopping you from playing IB your way and you will still get XP for completing matches which goes towards IB progress. So if you want to play your way go ahead

Are players forced to complete dungeons that award pinnacles? Are players forced to play crucible and gambit matches? You can play how you want. If you want certain rewards then simply do what is required to get what you want. Every powerful and pinnacle reward has a requirement that's clearly stated. You say it doesn't make sense yet this season is focused on those 3 subclasses.

Been that way for awhile and it’s definitely bottom of barrell in terms of fixes they need . Funny how u were already playing the 2 subclasses anyway and complain . Think complaints be from any status or arc mains they get screwed having to change subclasses but you should be fine since you were already playing pvp as solar and void ..
