I am excited to see it too, and the best part is we won't need to wait until April to start seeing what it is about. We have live-streams over the next three weeks about the content that will be released in Into the Light.
It is a great way to add to the story as a result of the delay. It'd just feel odd if we had to wait an extra three months for the Final Shape with the story just locked in stasis. Now, there appears to be an actual response to Crow successfully traveling through the portal. The Witness' forces know something happened, and this is their response before Crow can fully make it through and build the path for us.
We only have to wait until next Tuesday to start getting an answer.

Tbh I never expected the update to have any significant story to it at least, but mannn we’re getting the actual Pyramid fleet above the Last City - this itself could have been worthy of being the actual LF expansion (narratively) but I get that gameplay-wise they probably didn’t want to have the Last City being burned down as a permanent patrol zone as that would mean it would have to stay like that, as they aren’t vaulting anymore destinations. As for the Crow I just wonder how the Witness hasn’t outright killed him. But I agree that it must be a panic/knee jerk reaction by the Witness to distract and delay us from going through the portal, and to destroy us obviously. I know I’ll be hyped every Tuesday for the next 3 weeks at least 😂💯
