Why should it be referenced? It's not a Halo game, its a Destiny game.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with the Halo universe or the games at all.

Well, Marathon and halo had a ton of easter eggs related to each other and they would need to collaborate with 343i but its possible.
Marathon and halo had a ton of easter eggs related to each other
That's because Halo was Marathon 2.0.

Why do we just dont let Bungie start from scratch huh? I for one hope they have the artistic integrity and wont listen to the fans who think there should be this and that in their game. Keep it fresh and new and Destiny.

If they don't listen to the fans about a game for the fans then what's the point?

Why not even though halo was a halo game bungie referenced marathon a ton

I for one dont want it. No easter eggs, no references , just Destiny. All fresh and new.

Well despite your closed minded mentality it wouldnt hurt anybody. It obviously wouldnt interfere with destiny in any way. I just hope there isnt any legal complications. But i respect your opinion. And understand that a naked destiny would be just as great.

Edited by Mordreid: 4/25/2013 7:09:13 AMIf I want Halo references, then I'd play a Halo game. Simple as that. I'm not closeminded, I am simply stating my opinion. I wasnt aware that this was supposed to be a forum for yes sayers? There are enough threads dealing with the fact that players seem to want a Halo like game instead of something new. I for one applaud the fact that Bungie is making something entirely different and fresh. Halo has been going on for years, and dont get me wrong its a great series of games and the story arch is awesome. Halo Reach is by far the best one imho, but this is Destiny not Halo. No spartans, no Masterchief, no red vs blue. It's a persistent online shooter, without capture the flag, slayer, king of the hill etc. It's something entierly new and I do hope that we dont see any Halo reference in it, cause that would break the immersion.
-
It would not break the immersion. I don't think you know what an easter egg is. They are usually hidden, and are subtle nods at aspects of popular culture, in this case Halo. It would not need to be anything that affects the gameplay or plot.
-
well said, but what is stopping them from making a similar competitive exp. you say no red vs blue. How can they change the competitive side of things without leaving things like slayer and ctf in the game. What is something new that they can bring to the table in this aspect of Destiny. (I fully respect everything else)
