The Bible, for example, is not filed under "fiction". The Harry Potter books are. Also, a great many parts of the Bible are interpreted literally. For example, God creating the sun, man, plants, and animals.

If you start this interview at 9:07, you'll learn that interpreting the bible literally is more of a modern thing.
