I saw a video once saying the rewards aren't always for the best-of-the-best but maybe theres a guy on the otheer team doing really well, an then an underdog on your team who should probably lose the fight to him, but instead he kills them, the algorithm is in place to reward him.

If there weren't 1000's of Destiny vids i'd try finding it. I do know the vid that discusses this has the scene with the warlock in high altitude standing w/ the Thunderlord. I may get bored an try finding it but I doubt it lol.
