Seriously, the way engrams work is starting to kill my enjoyment for Destiny. I have better luck opening sticker packs in PVZ Garden Warfare than decrypting engrams with the cryptard. I got an exotic helmet engram, and the beetch gave me a Highlander type 3. WTF!!!? What is the point of breaking my arse in the crucible? Number 1 in 3 consecutive matches and the asshole that got a K/D of 0.34 gets the Exotic Auto Rifle Hard Light (The one I'm after). I'm giving the game a chance. Maybe bungie will fix this whole shenanigans with the upcoming hot fixes. But if they don't I am not seeing myself playing destiny any more in 3 weeks. Maybe a month tops. All effort I put in the crucible, strikes, just to see the lazy noob get the goodies while I get the uncommon crap? No.
The only good shite I get is from leveling the vanguard ranks. Got the shadow price, The vanguards do actually give you stuff. Not like the cryptard and that fat guy Lord Shaxx, tough on the outside but big of a pussy on the inside. I AM THE CRUCIBLE, WE ARE THE CRUCIBLE!!! Not you. You just say the crucible is for winners and for the fearless... Oh really? so why in the flying fawks you give better rewards to the players that didn't do any good, and nothing to the top ones? Explain to me that sorcery Lord Shaxx. Explain it to us. The game is good, has potential, but this awesome flaw just wastes it all.

Frustrating is obtaining 2 legendary armor engrams decrypting them only to be given 1 legendary armor for a Hunter and 1 rare also for a Hunter, when you're playing a TITAN.

Well, I can work around that because I can put that in the vault and if sometime in the future (If all of this loot mess gets fixed and clean) I get the urge to play as a Hunter, I will know that I have gear for him and Won't have to start 100% from scratch. But yeah, it is frustrating to finally get the engram you've been looking for and BAM!! Gets a legendary but not for your class.

i think ive decrypted about 50-60 legendary engrams prolly more now actually most of which are blue, but i don't come to to forum and rage like a child. RNG is a thing. play some other mmos they're just the same. try less keyboard warrior and more competent human. or y'know quit toxic players are still toxic.

I mean I love Destiny, but this game has some glaring issues that need fixing - it's like they didn't listen to the beta feedback at all. There were a bunch of threads asking for more/better loot. ARGPs typically shower you in loot because it's what makes the game fun, you kill a bunch of stuff, get some shinnies and are encouraged to fight more enemies for yet more shinnies. MMOs typically withold that loot behind various gates. The problem is Destiny seems to be stuck in the middle, with the benefits of neither; You don't find loot often enough (and of good enough quality) to make farming fun, and the boss fights are all dreadfully boring and monotonous with nothing making them really interesting - it's just fight the hordes of guys until it finally falls over dead (which is itself another issue, several fights just spam you with enemies to the point where you forget all about the boss) There's no major mechanics or any deep gameplay as would be typically found in an MMO boss encounter/dungeon. So yeah, Bungie has their work cut out for them. I'm not giving up on the game, I think the people who are crying that the sky is falling are being overly dramatic and hyperbolic but the game does have major issues that need addressing ASAP if they want people to stick around. This game is quickly becoming a huge joke all over the internet. Yes it sold a lot of copies but every other post I see is negative feedback. That shouldn't be happening with such a major release. EDIT: The cryptarch kicking us in the nads 90% of the time doesn't help things either.

Like the edit. Cryptarch kicking me in the balls sucks. At least buy me dinner before you BLAM me. Guess I'm not used to the "probably turn into loot" idea. I wait and play and when I see a certain color drop my brain instantly thinks I finally got it. It's disappointing to then have it turn into something else. Not the end of the world, but still disappointing. Wonder if "the division" will do that. Or will it give you EXACTLY the weapon it says it will when an enemy drops something.

^^ yeah it's reminding me a little too much of Diablo 3 lately and why I stopped playing that game - I got sick of identifying legendary after legendary and never getting the specific item I need. The funny thing is D3 is the exact opposite of Destiny; you get utterly spammed by "good" drops but the problem is you need very specific items from an insanely large loot pool for builds to be viable, and then on top of that the stats are all randomized so after potentially weeks of hunting an item you might finally get it but it'll have horrible stat rolls. At least so far the loot has been largely decent in Destiny for me, just very scarce (be nice if I could get my hands on a very high impact SR)

That picture made my day haha. But yeah, Destiny is a great game, it has potential, I love it, but these little flaws just kills my motivation to keep playing it. I stopped caring for engrams thanks to the cryptard. Man, he took my exotic engram and turned it into a highlander type 3 helmet. That was the deal breaker right there.

There is plenty of footage on Youtube of players on the top and bottom of the board in Crucible matches getting exotic weapons. It is completely random. I suggest you just grind out your cryptarch level because the higher that is, the better chance you have of dropping better engrams and getting better gear from those engrams. Keyword CHANCE. I got an exotic helmet in the first week from a purple engram.

My cryptard tank is 15 and the asshole only gives me rares when decrypting legendaries and exotics. I have grinded the crucible for too long now. It's not worth the hassle.

So? In one week, I have completed a bunch of matches, and the daily ones too. In one week, those sucking players have got exotics. In one week I only got a legendary engram which tuned out to be rare. It's bullshit.

Then why are these thing not explained? Do we need a faq for crying out loud?. Everything that i have seen complained about is probably the way the game is designed to work. The grimoire? system also feeds this lack of information as you only get cards after you get the thing. A faq would actually be helpful.

Yeah it's getting old fast getting my hopes crushed every single time from the Cryptard. Hate that guy. Looks like we will be BUYING out way to legend. Can't wait to tell everyone when they ask. "whoa awesome chest piece where did you get that?" "I went downstairs and bought it from that vanguard lady for 120 marks, best quest reward ever it was sooooooo epic you should have been downstairs two minutes ago"

IKR. That blue sorcerer just keeps taking my legendary stuff. But man, that crucible situation got me worked up really bad. I've never rage quited that hard in my gaming life. Worst player gets the Hard Light exotic gun. I get a shitty uncommon.

I suck at the crucible games but sometimes I have a good game and end up in the Top three. I've never gotten a purple engram int he 30 or so matches I've played. I almost always get a blue engram when I do get something. The other night, though, while playing with a full fire team, I got no rewards in ten straight matches and I was in the top three half the time. The loot is completely random. However, the odds of winning are lower than winning the Powerball Lottery.
