My Cryptarch was [i]only[/i] level 8 when he gave me my 2 legendary weapons, [i]and[/i] they were from blue engrams. Granted, both legendary weapons could've eventually been purchased from both the Crucible and Vanguard vendors, but I was stoked I got them for free and didn't have to waste any marks on them. Buying legendary armor is the way to go, where as with weapons you're better off finding them. [i]Unless[/i] you can get a good exotic from Xur. Grab his stuff immediately.
