I understand that it's the thought of having the option, but I don't think Raid matchmaking would be all that good of an idea despite what many people think.
Imagine all the AFK players you'd get, all the squeakers, the no mics, those that don't know what they're doing and how to communicate, not to mention the players that would get frustrated and simply leave.
No, the Raid doesn't need matchmaking, you need to find a small group of players that will Raid with you and take their time in explaining things to you.
You have time to post on the forums, so surely you can find a forum post of people that have time to Raid.
If you're on PS4 I don't mind doing the Raid. I have a few buddies that wouldn't mind either.

Bungie added chat for strikes and crucible. No one uses it. Community cried since day one for it and they didn't even want it.

I doubt it. They drop off was normal and complaints continued until it was added.
