When I started paying destiny I had one friend in psn through work. Now my list has grown close to 40 "friends"

I agree with this bit. Owing to odd working hours and a lack of mates owning consoles, i had very few friends online on any platform, so...I had to jump in and actually communicate with strangers. Imagine. It's currently 5.45 GMT, I've just checked. There are 96 people on my friends list. 16 of those are online playing Destiny now. 8 of those are people I've now regularly fireteamed with since September. Not one person has been abusive, overbearing or condescending in that time. Even when I epically failed. I've even joined and completed raids with no hope of loot just to get involved with the banter whilst playing. I personally think Bungie inadvertently got something very right here.
