No to raid matchmaking
Ok I'll address it here instead of one by one. Raid matchmaking is not a great idea. Yes it would be fast, but no one person would be designated as fire team leader. So with that like strikes no fire team leader no way to kick the people that are not going to participate with their hopes of being carried through for stuff they didn't work for. Even if they only get materials.
So lets say you get a full team you get just past the first templar checkpoint and someone leaves how does the matchmaking system determine who to put in as a replacement. How long will the system take to find you a replacement or do you back out and restart from the begining. So if you've been there an hour and have to start over you've wasted at least that hour.
Let's talk mics how many will actually have one even though every future Gen system comes with one. How many will actually use them. How many whiny kids could you stand for a minimum of 40 mins, standard time for any good raid team.
How happy would you be as a lvl 28 to be put in party of 24 to 26 with everyone with a blue weapon at best. The amount of frustration and rage quitting that will follow would be incredibly high.
You have many options for raid team making. Destinylfg, clans left and right on bungie forums, random invites to tower player or players in the wild. I personally joined my clan of 113 ppl for raid purposes only after a few weeks of trial groups we made a static group and run 45 min raids twice a week. I run all my nightfalls, heroics and dailies with these 5 ppl we share similar schedules, jobs with wives and kids.
