I don't care one way or another. If people want to use this glitch then have at it, you aren't hindering my gaming experience in the slightest. I just like to point out that Bungie has a history of punishing network manipulation without warning (anyone remember the halo reach XP gain reset?, heavy ammo glitch falls into the same category of network manipulation). In all honesty, the thought of that is enough for me to shy away.
Also, to the people suggesting this is similar to pushing the Templar/Atheon off the edge, you're wrong. Those two instances involved use of in game mechanics to beat a boss in an unconventional way. The Crota "cheese" is manipulating the network causing a lag spike when the host disconnects. The only similarity between the two is that they make the fight easier when done correctly.

Edited by v Noxx v: 12/22/2014 12:07:36 PMIt would be difficult to prove it was an intentional disconnect. So if I'm playing during a storm and my power goes out I would, in theory, be eligible for a ban if all things lined up perfectly? The halo glitches you mention give example of how a player would gain an advantage over another pvp player, not a pve raid boss. Different situation here.

Edited by Sir Jecht: 12/22/2014 12:20:22 PMThe halo glitch was for credits to buy armors. You would duplicate "bounties" and reach the daily max of credits. You needed to unplug the ether net for it though This is similar. Since its raid gear But bungie could tell you credit glitched by seeing if an account gained the daily maximum withing a new minutes I dnt think bungie can tell.who cheese crota... because with the cheese you can kill him in 2 sword phases And people have killed him with 2 swords legit So tl; Dr if you cheese crota just kill him in two sword phases

Ah okay. I only played halo reach briefly, so I must have misunderstood that particular glitch.

While I do agree that it would be hard to prove, everyone posting videos saying "watch me glitch Crota" are also saying "please ban me". We may be remembering different Halo glitches because the one that I'm remembering (which, oddly enough, was done by DC'ing your Internet) gained XP which was used purely for cosmetic items.

No, same one. I just misunderstood the purpose of the glitch. Only played that game for a very brief moment.

This. I totally agree. I don't and won't use the crota cheat but I would be mad if I got disconnected and banned.

Thank you for caring enough "not" to sound like one of the rare reasonable gamers in this thread.
