This is not a cheese that's using the design of the game. It's a cheat intentionally manipulating an Internet connection. If somebody gets booted for firefly that has an error report just the same as somebody stopping their connection to jump back on to get loot would give them a different error report.
I'm sure they also keep logs of every crota kill and it would be easy for them to filter those logs for having network manipulations seperate from the true disconnects. Who knows.
Like I said I really don't care how people play but it's blatantly cheating, and there is no way you can justify it. People aren't using programs but they are doing what a program can do manually by flipping a switch or unplugging and plugging in a cable. I'm sure it will be fixed and there may be no repercussions. All they have to do is delete the loot that was looted on the cheated runs though.
I'm a full supporter of cheesing but disconnect glitches are not cheese. This is cheating. I don't play with people that use this cheat, so again it doesn't affect me.
In two weeks only 750-800 teams beat Crota. Since the cheat was introduced to the community over 100k completions have been done. It shouldn't even be over 2000 a week later without cheating.
