Well, our country was technically invaded (although we definitely provoked it by messing with Japanese actions in SE Asia), and Germany was about to take over Europe, so that's slightly different, although I see no point in killing an innocent German/Italian/Japanese regular joe. Wars today aren't like WW2. That was the last American war that I would have considered fighting in.
