There is a difference between burn in and image retention. Burn in is permanent and image retention is temporary. I have a high end panasonic thats a few years old and I do get the occasion IR but thats it. And not to turn this into an lcd led plasma pissing contest but plasmas really do offer the best in picture quality, unfortunately led's is whats popular.

And unfortunately at the end of the 2014 model year, every major manufacture has backed out of the plasma market. Once the 2014 stock is gone, there will be no more new plasma TVs. It's unfortunate as competition is always good for a free market.
