From personal experience Plasmas are the worst TV for gaming for exactly the reasons OP listed. It's not bungies fault but your suggestion is a good one although I don't know what you are talking about when you say that every other game in existence has this feature? I've NEVER seen it on a console game. Go LED or LCD, it's better for gaming and i think you can use some sort of insane video loop that should get rid of it or a static image.
