Before you insulting refresh rates. Maybe you should know that plasmas are only 60hz and no faster they use frame interpolation on a 10 to 1 rate so for every 1 frame the TV puts 9 fake frames to compensate. Most high end led/lcd tvs will offer the same true cinema experience you get on a plasma. The big key difference is plasmas can do it without input lag. So a smart shopper will find what they need.

You don't know much. My pioneer elite plasma is 72hz so it's made for watching blueray at 1080p24 frames per second as 24 goes in 72 3 times so it has perfect 3:3 pull down cadence which means no stutter or judder and no fake frames. Only a real videophile watches movies on a plasma. It works great for games as I've never had burn in or image retention. It's the uneducated public that keeps buying inferior LCD displays that's causing plasma to go bye bye. If you look at the last plasma Samsung made in 2013, it wins best display over all LCDs out. It also wins best display in 2014 against all other LCD displays out. It's also brighter than an LCD, which is one of LCDs selling point. The only thing that even came close to tying with the Samsung plasma was a 2014 OLED from LG. Plasma are made for sports and movies, everything else is a second class low tier display.

I have owned a fn8500, I owned both st50 and st60 and I personally have tested the oled LG as its currently sitting my son's room, any full array local dimming lcd is going to produce equal if not better contrast levels and true blacks. Infant if you did your research you would know that high end lcd displays are capable of true cinema 24p mode with out motion or judder. There is no reason to own a plasma anymore. The technology has become advanced enough to match if not beat the quality level of a plasma.

Well I'll believe high end videophiles and real results shown in a display shoutout before I take your internet opinion over fact. Thanks for the input. #tryagain

My pioneer elite is still miles beyond whatever is out. Every time I put in a blueray I am still wowed! #youdontknowwhatyouretalkingabout #youreadeuchebag

Haha fan boys gotta love em

Good ole uninformed public consumers, making the world go round by being early adopters of over priced technology. Big wallet corporations thank you for buying overpriced tech that's already outdated and not compatible the moment you bring it home. Have fun with your 4k set that can only do UHD at 30frames.
-
Actually I just got done watching 4k native 60fps but thanks ;) I know my technology plasma is outdated tech. maybe you should go to avs forums and learn a thing or two
-
Been there done that, plasma folk don't like lcd folk. You're a bunch of idiots. Calibrated and spent many years there doing reviews. Thanks. You've probably learnt a thin for two from me and my thousands of posts there. No kindly go watch your shitty LCD. I say good day sir.
-
You seem upset? Must be that plasma ;)
-
Upset cause I have an amazing plasma, na. You do under stand what good day sir means?
-
Haha nah I have a pn65f8500 was not too impressed
-
Go get it pro calibrated unless maybe you don't like natural colors and are more used to oversaturated lcd colors.
-

Edited by HIGGZY420: 1/29/2015 1:57:39 AMYou don't know low input lag if your running a TV end of story lol BenQ xl2420te for the win

My input lag is like 13 ms which is pretty superior for a 65 inch tv. If I'm doing serious pvp I'll run a 2ms monitor
