Plasma is a superior technology that received a bad reputation for glaring flaws early in its life-cycle. Consumer reports singlehandedly ruined its potential, not to say they haven't fixed those glaring flaws, they have, but because of its initial failure, people stopped buying them in favor of LCD panels long ago, driving the price down, creating less incentive for manufacturers to build them.
