At least someone here is smart. Everyone thinks that their led lcs tv's are completely safe when that's not true. And everyone who says oled is perfect also doesn't realize that even oled has burn in issues currently. Along with blue pixels aging quickly I think.

Not to mention OLEDs have a MUCH shorter lifespan than other LEDs. I used to work marketing for Sony for a short bit dealing specifically with high end TVs. Plasma is actually in my opinion a way better TV than LED, anyone who says otherwise has never seen a color and depth presentation side by side or is frankly uneducated on the matter. Plasmas also handle motion much better than LEDs so they are amazing for sports and gaming....all that said, plasma TVs are much more likely to see burn in issues than a LED (however LEDs can suffer all the same, ever seen the screen on a LG Curve phone on display?) The problem is, the last great Plasmas died when Panasonic announced they were no longer making Plasma. Panasonic originally took over the rights for the Pioneer Elite TVs, which even years old, still have amazing color and detail. The last great Plasma in recent years was the Panasonic ZT60. It had all the must have of a plasma, great speed, amazing detail and handled the black levels that even top of the line 4k TVs could not, and all at half the price of the current 4k TVs. I really hope Panasonic gets back into the Plasma game, most of the other main brands are garbage for plasma. But until then, I put my money into Sony LEDs. No other brand I saw at the time could lay a hand on what Sony was doing. Samsung was and remains a joke in terms of color and had the highest return rate of any TV brand sold (if you argue this, find a Sony rep in a Frys or Best Buy and have him do a color demo side by side with any other brand, I used to do the demo on Samsung 8000 series TVs which were the top before their 4k and compare it to a budget brand like Vizio's E series TV and the Vizio's would blow the Samsung away in terms of color). LG was decent in terms of color but didn't handle processing and screen resolution fast enough for my desires. I didn't just like Sony because I worked for them. I truly enjoy their TVs and they have earned my money until one of the other brands step up their game. Currently I have a 65" XBR850a 4k in my living room, a 55" XBR850b 4k in my office, and a 55" W900A in my bedroom. Couldn't be happier....unless Panasonic brings back Plasma.

  • Interesting read. I wish more people like yourself were around in terms of tech knowledge. The lack of general public knowledge of tv's is astounding. A short time I worked in electronics at walmart and no body had a clue about anything. Granted, in store walmart doesn't carry anything good, only online. But still, felt like I was trying to teach infants about quantum physics.

  • The only tv i've never had image burn with is my LCD tv. It gets it when It's there for a super long time but it fades away eventually. I'm sure i'll have some at some point though. Right now my LCD does this weird thing with the 360 where the green bar on the xbox menu when I scroll extends to each side of my tv.

  • That's pretty odd I must say. No issues like that on my 360.

  • It's only with my lcd tv too. My theater tv doesn't have that issue.

  • My friends led does the most nauseating ghosting effect I can't even look at his tv when he's playing games...and that's after it was calibrated. Lcds do weird things sometimes.

  • It's like the only problem I've noticed with my LCD though. All my xbox one games look perfectly fine.

  • It's not a big deal. It only does it with the menu on the 360.
