I thought newer Plasma TVs came with a self heal. So any burn in would subside after a while.

It may work to some degree but unfortunately when you run the self heal function (you will need to quite often given how quickly you can develop image retention from game menus) it shaves time off of the TVs life and eventually degrades the picture quality. The self heal is a solid white screen that forces the phosphors in the panel to burn at full intensity for hours at a time. Pixel orbiter did not prevent my burn in sadly. Some people seem to have better luck than others with burn in. In my experience I went through 2 Panasonic units and had the same issue so I switched back to LED.

  • Indeed. I have a Samsung Plasma one of the better models. I have had burn in that healed after sometime.
