Okay who here has done a public event for a reward........exactly public events need to have a chance to drop exotics let alone legendaries, and add more -blam!- for public events in general emblems shaders etc...
Bungie keeps adding them yet they give you blues

They basically give blue gear, which means trash. I'd rather they dropped nothing at all.

Edited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 10/1/2022 11:00:55 AMThey shouldn't reward exotics for a 5 minute low level activity my 6 year old niece can complete with her eyes closed. Jeez, some of you guys want this game to become way too casual, it's so laughable. It was silly back when it was possible to get exotics out of public events. The reason the rewards are so crappy is because public events are low level stuff that blueberries start out with when they're beginning the game. Not all the content in the game is meant to hand you the world on a silver platter. It would water down how often you can get exotics and make them less of a rarity in the game. Exotics are supposed to be, you know.... Exotic? Rare to find in game. You want them handed out like candy even more when you can already farm them from lost sectors? Just add enhancement cores, finest matterweave, concentrated mattergems and I would even be cool with adding raid banners as a reward for public events. Consumables that a new player can start to stock up on for when the game starts to get alot harder.

I'd be happy if there was a small chance at dropping armor mods. I'm missing a ton of them

What needs to happen is folks need to do Heroic Events properly and Heroic Events should drop high tier destination loot and a chance at an exotic. If Heroic Events dropped an exotic on chance folks would actually learn them finally....in 8 years.... Public Events always were unrewarding and because of that they have never been utilized as they were advertised. Exciting Community Public Events. Remember how good Escalation Protocol was? Just walk into Mars and a group would be doing it. It was a good event because people knew there was a carrot. People love Destiny for that carrot. Public Events have no carrot.

What I think Bungie should do is update about 14 weapons(2 for each patrolable destination, not including the Leviathan as that will be removed when Lightfall launches) that were sunsetted and tie them to public events on a particular destination. For example any public event on Nessus has a chance(slightly higher for heroic) to reward you with the Manannan SR4 scout rifle and the Blast Furnace pulse rifle while public events on the Throne world could drop the Misfit auto rifle and the Frigid Jackal sniper rifle and add more every 2 or 3 seasons.I think this would really make doing public events better. One thing I don't understand is why does Bungie bother making new public events every time a new destination/expansion comes out if the rewards are just the same as every other public event.

Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - old
Would be a good way to reintroduce the old location weapons , have a random roll drop from Heroic Public Events Also bring back Flashpoints has another pinnacle -
It makes patrol zones useless, except for master lost sectors. If you get purp for heroic, with a small chance of exotics (higher than just wold drops) it would liven up the patrol zones.

Public Events should...: --Reward abundant planetary materials --Reward Legendary Weapons/Gear related to the planet you are on (completing Heroics has a chance of rewarding Curated weapons) --Reward Enhancement Cores/Enhancement Prism (Prism only on Heroic Completions) --Reward Vanguard Reputation (25 for normal, 50 for Heroic) --Create Time Trials for Public Events which will reward bonus gear/materials when completed.

exotics are ultra low rewards - if they dropped from farming public events, they would cease to be rewarding. PE are there for slight XP gains, and the ability to farm kills. What ruins Public Events are blueberries, particularly those annoying New Lights who think Pike's do any meaningful damage except annoy everyone else, which is why I blow them up as soon as they try to get on them. If you want high end rewards, earn them; i.e. play high end rewarding content.

I use them to reload all my special and heavy ammo before going to a lost sector to do my weapon bounties.

Edited by Smough: 9/30/2022 3:18:29 PMOne thing I liked about last season was that leviathan patrol had enemies that were at least slightly tougher than normal patrol enemies, and that it actually felt kinda rewarding to do stuff. I’m hoping that bungie finds a way to do that with all current patrol zones. Maybe some kind of heroic patrol where more enemies spawn, they are higher level, and you can get good loot. And of course apply this to public events as well. Maybe make it a good way to specifically farm world red border weapons. Maybe reintroduce older sunset weapons into this new loot pool as well. I dunno, maybe I’m overthinking, but Id much prefer updates like this to already existing locations instead of yet another seasonal activity where I throw orbs at something. Cause even if public events were rewarding, they would still be incredibly boring as they are now. ”Oh no! A fallen ship just flew by and dropped off 3 dregs! What are we gonna do?!”

Adept public event blues. The Ballyhoo but with Kill Clip.
-
2 Tokens and Blue, more rewarding than ever!!!!!
-
I think some of them should drop weapon crafting materials instead of them droping from weapons, i think weapons should only be for patterns.

the last time i was excited about a public event was factions on io

Edited by AendettV: 9/30/2022 3:05:33 PMPublic Events used to drop exotics. The community complained so Bungie changed it. And this is why we can't have nice things.
-
when d2 launched public events were farmed for exotics and it was way too easy to get them. as long as it isn't as easy as it used to be then that's fine. or completing heroics could just drop legendary shards and/or enhancement cores

Ah yes, years 1 and 2 when PE’s were worth doing. But apparently players cried that it was easy loot and then players cried that no one cared about the weekly flashpoint. Obviously, those were the players who had already exhausted the well and couldn’t climb anymore using PE’s, simply wanting to hold those other players who hadn’t fully used the resource back.

If you read this post please bump it

They do drop exotics, I got one today on the Moon after a Warstat event.

Putting in random things to chase is a great idea.
