I was looking through the Black Armory locations and I was surprised to find that absolutely everything is still there. The sites for the Volundr Forge, the Gofannon Forge, the Izanami Forge, and the Bergusia are still present. Although I crash whenever I make it to Izanami
All the same Black Armory Content was top tier. The season as a whole pushed bounties way too hard, but I bet in Destiny's current setup the Forges would thrive. The Raid especially was one of the best I've experienced from Destiny.
I remember when the DCV was presented it was under the premise that some of that content could come back. In my opinion the whole Season was IP defining. Maybe it should come back as a permanent addition to the D2 experience

Blast Furnace was one of the best weapons in Destiny history.
-
They got sunset for the same reason as everything else. Selling it to us twice or even 3 times. We have plenty of examples for that. The leviathan in season of the haunted, the bunkers from season of the mighty got resold to us in season of the seraph, the exotic missions like presage and harbinger etc. etc. Literally everything was removed to eventually double dip our money and time spent in those activities.
-
So they can bring them back for people to pay for them again. LF year is the year of refurbished material. Pay for blue, pink, etc. Same guns - different colour and perks. Enjoy.
-
They needed to make space by leaving them there apparently
-
They had some kinda bullshit explanation in the lore about this. I can’t reminder the source for the life of me but it’s out there. Not saying I agree though.
-
Don't worry, I'm sure they will sell it back to us again and advertise it as new content
-
They should be pinnacles. That's 4 a week per character. Throw in 2 champions to the mix.
-
To disrespect your money and play time.

Edited by SixDFT: 3/27/2023 5:20:36 PMWeapons were great (taking Blast Furnace into IB tonight), but the season itself wasn’t great. Putting aside that big quest thing to open the final forge that was impossible due to a missing clue or somesuch, the season started like a turbocharged version of Lightfall where the basic seasonal activity was almost literally impossible at first due to light requirements being waaaay higher than anyone was at, followed by literally empty forges when the requirement was lowered. Still, nice ship at the end of it. EDIT: I have indeed just used Blast Furnace in IB. Still an absolute monster both in looks and performance, ruined only by the halfwit wielding it.
-
I don't have enough vault space now, but would love to get those weapons back
-
Because the code tied to the activities is way bigger than the one for the area itself. They also may re-use those areas for something else at one point. We dont need forges anymore, those were boring (go to the tower talk to ada 1.....yeah great times) The loot was good so it should just be added somewhere else in a future season and thats all.
-
I like black armoury too, the background, the art style and ada-1 is my favourite. It is so disappointed that black armoury become a weaving machine. I had imagine it will have some relation with strand subclass, but no, i disappointed again. I don't think bungie can rewrite black armoury in a good way.
-
Can you go to the locations without getting wacked by the architects? If so, I might just wander there for fun.
-
I don’t get why people want to regrind previously sunsetted weapons
-
How are they supposed to reskin and resell you content if they don't sunset it first?
-
Black Armory weapons were some of the best in the game. So now they want to reprise them? I had some great rolls that I had to dismantle because they originally made sunset weapons useless.... then didn't have any vault space. Lame.
-
Because bongo logic
-
Bungie did say if we have a season where ada is the focus we will get back some forge weapons ...most likely craftable. Same as how with rasputin we got ikelos weapons and some seventh seraph.
-
Forge was bad You just remember liking the weapon The quest and activity was mid tier at top Also these were seasonal ...so technically not part of DCV ...seasonal stuff have limited time ...and the fact its still there physically doesn't prove much since this happen all the time in other game and often lead to nothing
-
You can even go out of bounds to see Red War campaign levels. A imagine a lot is still there taking up space and it was never about space.
-
They will be coming back as paid seasonal content this year I’m sure
-
Tonsell you the new dlc: Return of the black armory where we promise to fix everything we broke. - bungie

Edited by BoyarD: 3/26/2023 4:59:05 PMJust want my curated kindled orchid unsunset Most of the Scourge and Forge weapons were really good and had good/unique designs
-
Ada deactivated them because her new passion is synthweave
-
We're playing Gambit and Crucible on planets that got Vaulted. If you try to make sense of what got taken away from the game and what's left, it'll just hurt.

Edited by Rexx: 3/25/2023 5:44:23 PMYeah, I went on a little tour a few days ago. Why aren't these areas re-purposed? They're great boss arenas, it's all there ready to go. Just add some enemies and a mini boss and boom, easy content. BTW, anyone know what the glowing writing on the wall in volundr forge means? Can't remember seeing that before.
